Our agency recent had it’s FIRST CYBER LIABILITY claim from one of our clients. Unfortunately there was NO COVERAGE under their normal business policy…That is the purpose of my sending you this email. As I write this email to you, we DO NOT have a single commercial client that has purchased CYBER LIABILITY coverage from our agency. What is even more important is that normal business owner policies and general liability policies EXCLUDE Cyber Liability coverage. Our client had an online security breech by a former employee that was disgruntled. Upon filing the claim they found out that Cyber Liability is a specialty coverage and must be added to your commercial policy or even better yet must be added to your business using a totally separate policy just for Cyber Liability.

This type of coverage is just now starting to “come to life” in the business world. We now have about three different companies offering this coverage in the last 30 days or so…. We also are in conversations with a couple of existing carriers who are creating coverages for this so that it can added to their existing policy.  I wanted to write you and make sure that you knew about this coverage. Also that your policy… if a standard business liability policy, may not and (most likely) does not cover Cyber Liability.

We have the ability now to get a quote for you on this coverage and if you would like for us to work up a basic proposal please call, fax or email us and we will be happy to do so! Below is a copy of a NEW Cyber liability flyer below to try and explain those coverages to you. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to give us a call!
