Re: Travelers Claim Update

I wanted to let you know of available resources following the severe tornadoes and windstorms that impacted communities across Alabama and Georgia last night.

  • Travelers has begun receiving claims from these weather events, including some high severity losses. As a reminder, you can log in to our agency portal (www.travelersagents.com) to download a list of claims for your agency.

  • As claims are received by our call centers, they are assigned to trained claim professionals in the area. To ensure your customers receive the prompt service they deserve, we have also brought in additional Travelers professionals from other offices and our national Catastrophe Team. My local leadership team and I are working closely with Travelers National Catastrophe Management Center to monitor claim volumes and quickly assign the appropriate resources to the area.

  • Because customer service is a top priority, all claims will be handled by highly trained representatives, who share our commitment to achieving the best outcome on every claim.

  • Mobile Claim Offices are en route to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa to assist agents and customers there. These are fully self contained offices  on wheels, where customers and agents without power or telecommunications access can reach us for help. You and your customers can start a claim, talk to one of our managers, or just access our network. We will inform you of Mobile Claim Office locations  as soon as possible. You can always check a special Severe Weather Alert page of our website, www.travelers.com, for the latest Mobile Claim Office locations.

  • To ensure customers know how to reach us, we are running ads in The Birmingham News and The Tuscaloosa News and on their websites, www.bhamnews.com and www.tuscaloosanews.com.

  • Finally, we know that some of you may need our support as well. We are in the process of reaching out to agents in impacted areas via telephone to learn more about everyone's situation--but if you need help immediately, please contact me or any member of my management team directly.  We can provide access to our telecommunications network, information on claims for your agency, and access to our network of support services.
